The BFG (short for The Big Friendly Giant) is a 2016 fantasy adventure film directed by Steven Spielberg, based on the classic children’s book by Roald Dahl.
The story follows a young orphan girl named Sophie who lives in London. One night, she spots a mysterious giant walking the streets. The giant, known as the BFG, kidnaps her and takes her to Giant Country to keep his existence a secret.
Unlike the other giants, the BFG is gentle and kind—he refuses to eat humans and spends his time catching and delivering good dreams to children. Sophie learns that the other giants, such as Fleshlumpeater and Bloodbottler, are cruel and eat human beings.
Together, Sophie and the BFG come up with a clever plan to stop the evil giants once and for all. They travel to London to ask Queen Elizabeth II for help. With the Queen’s support, they execute their plan, and the bad giants are captured and sent to a distant island where they can no longer harm anyone.
The film ends on a heartwarming note, with Sophie living happily and the BFG continuing to spread good dreams around the world.
